I’m a child of the American west, an explorer with camera always in hand. Raised in Montana, lived at the foot of the San Gabriel mountains of California, and now at home in Portland. My inspiration is everywhere - on the open road as much as in walks in the village.
My paintings are snapshots in time. I love the wonders of nature and man’s own achievement. I find architectural detail as inspiring as the wings of a bee. Painting has helped me see the magic in my everyday surroundings.
My studio is at the forest edge in the heart of Portland. My works in oils are multi-layered. It takes time to bring every detail to life, and my style is very deliberate. I have a natural inclination to realism, but the abstract also calls to me, often in bold bursts of color. I strive to create mementos of the modern scene, instantly recognizable yet unlike any other.
